Safeguarding Policy

The MFPID Safeguarding Policy, established in March 2024, aims to protect children, individuals with intellectual disabilities, and vulnerable adults from harm, particularly sexual harassment, exploitation, and abuse (SHEA). Formed in June 2023, the Myanmar Federation of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (MFPID) works collaboratively with local and international organizations to improve the quality of life for this community, guided by UN conventions on rights. The policy outlines preventive measures, reporting mechanisms, and response protocols, emphasizing zero tolerance for harm and prioritizing survivor-centered approaches. Key provisions include behavior protocols, social media guidelines, rigorous recruitment, safeguarding training, and risk assessments. The policy applies to all associated personnel, partners, and donors, fostering a safe, inclusive, and dignified environment aligned with global standards.
